The Net-University Project is a consortium project, funded through the Leonardo Da Vinci, Lifelong Learning Programme and managed through the East Iceland Knowledge Network.

The project is based on a pool of innovative results already undertaken for distance education both in Sweden and Scotland and focuses on international cooperation between Europe and Newfoundland connecting with the ongoing development of the Northern Knowledge Network and acquired experience of distance education in Canada (Newfoundland).
